In each operational area the LP-1 will monitor the LP-2, and the LP-2 will monitor the LP-1. Both the LP-1 and the LP-2 will monitor the assigned SR. The LP-1 in each operational area will monitor a NOAA weather transmitter. This plan includes a map showing locations of NOAA weather transmitters and their operating frequency. It is possible that your operational area is in an area that is not served by a NOAA weather radio. If you do not have a service in your area then you are not required to monitor NOAA. Every effort to monitor a NOAA transmitter should be made by each LP-1 in Virginia. Alternate means of reception should be explored such as the Virginia Radio Network, or maybe arraignments can be made to have information handed off by the adjacent operational area. Some stations may have a private commercial weather service that can be added to their EAS receiver.
