This modifications is from Marti Electronics service dept. 7/27/95 in a phone conversation with Mike Friedman, Chief Engineer of WRXL radio here in Richmond.
This modification applies to all RPT-30 rpu transmitter units built prior to May 1995.
Problem: Sawtooth waveform causing a buzzing sound in the audio transmission.
Solution: Very carefully place a 220 ufd radial lead capacitor across the fan motor leads. Motor leads terminate on a small 1"x1.5" pc board at pins 2 and 3 on the board.
Connect the negative capacitor lead to the black wire (pin 2), followed by the positive lead to the red wire (pin 3).
This should eliminate the buzz.
